Where do you live? Where do you come from?
cato legreid
I live in Voss, Norway – the extreme sport capitol of the world! My ski-heart and soul tho´ belongs in Røldal and Odda, Norway, where I grew up and have spent most of my life skiing Røldal powder.

Favorite mountains.

This is a hard one, because there are so many places. In Norway; Røldal is my home resort and my heart belongs there so its hard not to bring Roldal into the loop. Also Roldal is the ski resort in Norway, and often Europe, with the highest amount of snowfall per year. The skiing is “minigolf” terrain, but with very easy access to 300-450 verticals of 45 to 55 degree skiing. Besides Røldal in Norway, I have to mention Hemsedal ski resort as a great resort (but expensive), and Voss Resort as efficient and good place to ski/snowboard. Beside Norwegian resorts, I also have some european ski resorts that I really love spending time in, such as Chamonix in France, Krasnaya Polyana in Russia, HochFugen (the whole Zillertal actually) in Austria. In Italy there are many places, but Aoste Valley, with resorts like Courmayeur and Alagna also has some great areas to ski.

Home Spot.

My home resort by default is Røldal, Norway. I reside 2 hours from Røldal now, in a place called Voss. So at the moment I would have to say Voss Resort and Myrkdalen Fjellandsby, as my home resorts as well. The two last ones being good in different aspects – with Voss Resort having the best ski terrain, and Myrkdalen having the best freeskiing of the two.

Your first experience with skis.
cato legreid
I still have vivid memories of my first time skiing with alpine skis. I was around 4 years old and my parents brought me to Røldal to go skiing for the first time on alpine skis. I remember being brought up to the high end of the middle lift of the resort – and my parents started talking to some friends of theirs. I couldn´t hold back my eagerness to try out the slopes. So while they where talking to their friends, I figured I would start skiing on my own….Long story short; They found me waiting for them to help me back on the lift at the bottom of the lift 15 minutes later, after some “search and rescue” activities, since they didn´t see me leave and suddenly saw I wasn´t there with them, waiting for them anymore, when they were finished chatting with friends..
MAJESTY
Your favorite sports/hobby/activities
cato legreid
I have many activities that I love doing besides skiing and/or snowboarding at winter time. One of my main activities/hobbies is air-sports, and I have been doing a lot of Speedriding and Paragliding since the 2008/09 season amongst other things, I also had a long period of skydiving and came to the “wingsuit” level before I figured I spent to much money on something that didn´t give my mental health the aspect that I wanted it to. After ending my skydiving period I started looking at mountain/trail running, but figured my knees wasn´t to happy about it, so I looked at the trails and started to wonder if it was time for me to start biking instead. Which I eventually did. So now I like doing downhill MTB and I have my own little dealership for downhill and trail-bikes, so we can have fun during summertime when the snow isn´t around in the mountains. Other sports: I´ve been doing and competing in wakeboarding in my younger years (in my twenties) and also downhill longboarding have been one of my competitive sports back in the days. Recent years I have had an interest in water sports, such as kiting, and I want toteach how to paddle and catch waves for surfing. With this in mind I started to do skate-surfing to learn how to progress my turns and get some power in to carving the waves – so skate-surfing is a thing for me at the moment. I am so lucky to have a fiancée that loves doing all sorts of fun sports, so she is often around playing together with me – feeling lucky is a short description when it comes to being able to share most of these fun things with someone that is you best friend and soul-mate.

Why Majesty?
cato legreid
My friend in Røldal, Victor Andreu, had been skiing with Majesty for a while, and had a lot of demo equipment at his place. During one of his demos in Røldal I was lucky enough to get to try out a pair of Majesty Havoc skis. They felt kind of stable and interesting. I use to be a sponsored athlete with a different skibrand at the time, so I couldn’t just start skiing with Majesty straight away. But eventually skideal as a sponsored athlete ended, and I got to test a pair of Supernovas for hiking/skitouring. The Majesty Supernovas really gave me a positive feedback to the type of skiing that I like to do. They also suited my fit my style and technique quite well. After this I started testing other models from Majesty, and I started to get that “WOW FEELING”. Majesty Skis really puts up to my level of skiing, hard, steep, fast control. Coming from a competitive background of alpine racing before doing ski-cross on an international level, and being on the Freeride World Tour – I feel I have found the skibrand that are fitting how I carve my turns in the slopes, as well as cruising the powder. And even better, I also found the Majesty Vanguard Ti that actually supports me while I jump big cliffs and land/stomp cliffs at high speed. A long explanation of whyand how I finally found my go-to ski brand. There are even more reasons to why I enoy Majesty skis, and hopefully I will be able to show the Majesty followers some of my dreamlines while being on the brand. This way you will Hvor lenge har du kjørt på Majesty ski? This season (2024/25) will be the third season I have Majesty skis within my possession, but my first season as an ambassador. understand why I find Majesty as a great and versatile brand for me, as an allround athlete spending my time skiing .

What are you achievements with Majesty so far?
cato legreid
I have again accomplished playfullnes and happiness in the mountains. I have accomplished to develop my skiing skills further. I’ve skied switch in areas I hadn´t done so since I was in my early 20’s. I’ve started to love to go skitouring, (I never really did before..), and I’ve done some great tricks again, which I hadn’t done since I was in my late 20’s, like cork 7 and D-spin 7. I still haven’t competed with Majesty skis, due to a late season knee injury last season. Hopefully I will be able to do Røldal Freeride Challenge again this upcoming season. I competed in Røldal Freeride Challenge first time back in 2001, and now 23 years later I am still capable of being part of the top 10 finishers in this contest. I have a honorable medal from the competition, and they always welcome me to be part of the riders, for as long as the competition exists. At my age (43yo), I look at myself more as a mascot than a competitor, but I love the fact that I am still able to be part of the contest, as well as being able to win, IF, and that is a big IF, I pass the finishing line with both skis still on my feet….In my career getting to the finish has been the hardest part due to the fact that I have a tendency to always go to big. BIG TIME competitive nerves, with a big dash of “too big balls” in my approach to this contest, has never played in my favour ;)

What do you want to achieve with Majesty?
cato legreid
I hope and want to be able to be part of a team where my long experience and knowledge of skiing/freeriding can be transferred to helping out and maximizing the possibilities for Majesty as a ski-brand when it comes to testing and development of their equipment . I also wish to be able to pass on my knowledge from my 26 years freeride skiing in the mountains to all generations of skiers, young and old, and help them find their way in to the Majesty line-up for the winters to come. Besides this, I also wish to accomplish a further development of my own knowledge on skis, and I believe that Majesty is the brand where I can do so, considering that the line-up of the hardware from Majesty is so broad and versatile, that it even involves a racing ski – which has become sort of a late blooming passion again for me. The feeling of carving out some perfect turns on skis has yet again become one of my favorite things to do after experiencing what the 4 radius combination from Majesty has done for my self-awareness when it comes to ski-position and ski technique again.
Ski you all out there.
